Description

This course provides foundational theories of stress and its effects on body, mind and spirit, life and work stressors. Participants are presented with principle-centered stress management theories and study the common types of life situations leading to stress reactions and chronic stress. Participants will study the establishment of effective relationships for stress and alternative coping mechanism for dealing  with stress. Participants  then are introduced to  common stress management modalities such as meditation, relaxation exercises and life enrichment through effective change management. 

What Will I Learn?

  • Develop personalized stress management intervention plans.
  • Manage long-term stressors to enhance overall mental, physical and spiritual health.

Lawrence Fianko, MSW, LSW, CASAC is an experienced Social Work professional with over five years of human services experience. Lawrence attended Bronx Community College, Lehman College and went on to attend Indiana University to obtain his Masters of Social Work with the Concentration of Mental Health and Addictions. In addition to being the Co-founder and Executive Director at Educational Communities Worldwide, he works at Centerstone, Bloomington as a Mental Health and Addictions Therapist. His specialty areas include: substance use, trauma, anxiety and depression, academic issues, grief/loss, life transitions. He is a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
